Ministry of National Security of the Republic of Armenia has denied the opportunity of using the territory controlled by the Nagorno Karabakh Republic defense army to transit drugs. According to the information provided to «Arminfo» agency in the National Security Ministry press office, the ministry has repeatedly stated that neither the territory of Armenia, nor Nagorno Karabakh territory were ever used to transit drugs. This rumor is being spread by Azeri special services pursuing propagandistic purposes. Meanwhile, according to US State Department annual report, just Azerbaijan is continuously being used as a territory to transport drugs. The US is convinced that the important geopolitical location of Azerbaijan plays a key role in it and has gained more importance for the international drug barons after the Yugoslav crisis.
