NATO NOT INVOLVED IN SOUTH CAUCASIAN CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

The settlement of Karabakh conflict with participation of the OSCE Minsk group is the only effective way. Vardan Oskanian, Armenian foreign minister has stated it today at the joint press conference with the OSCE chairman-in-office. According to him, the involving of other mediating attempts in the process might negatively tell on the Karabakh conflict settlement. Regarding the question about possible participation of the NATO in the Karabakh settlement, V. Oskanian has noted that “that variant is not considered”. “Armenia cooperates with the NATO within the framework of the program “Partnership in the name of peace” and this is quite enough”, he has said. In his turn chairman-in-office Jaime Gama has emphasized that now the NATO is busy, particularly, “with the establishment of strategic cooperation with Russia and does not issue a challenge to participate in the Karabakh conflict settlement”.
