Every time on the eve of the regular anniversary of the slaughter of Armenians in Sumgait, propaganda mechanisms of Azerbaijan boosts the topic of Khojalu in order to mislead the public opinion and to divert the attention of the community from mass crimes against Armenian population in so-called international city. The scope of «Khojalu» increases every year- the death roll, the number of captives, etc are increased falsely. Chairman of the permanent committee for foreign relations of the Nagorno-Karabakh National Assembly Vahram Atanesian has informed «Arminfo» agency about this. Meanwhile, the deputy has noted, for Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh neutralization of weapon emplacements of Khojalu, where in 1990-91, considerable part of human force and a lot of weapons and equipment were transferred, as well as release of the only airport of the republic that was under control of this city populated by Azeris were extremely important for survival of the population that Baku tried to doom to death. NKR leadership had informed the Azerbaijani side about getting ready for carrying out the operation for neutralization of weapon emplacements of Khojalu two months before the operation began. And this has been confirmed by official figures of Azerbaijan.
