Today the court has passed a sentence regarding the case of murder of Georgian citizen Poghos Poghosian committed in Yerevan «Poplavok» café. It should be reminded that the officer of the Armenian President’s guard Aghamal Arutyunian was accused of the commitment of the murder. Aghamal Arutyunian had beaten Poghosian within an inch of his life only for that Poghosian had allowed himself to drop disrespectful remark concerning Robert Kocharian who had been at the café at that time. In the sentence of the court is stated that charges preferred against Arutyunian proved true, that means he «showed criminal negligence, gave Poghosian a push that resulted in cranial-cerebral injury of Poghosian and then his death». Today the court sentenced the accused to two-year suspended imprisonment. The side representing the interests of the victim is utterly dissatisfied with the verdict and thinks that sentence is more than light. Obviously the verdict will be appealed at the appeal cout.
