Boris Matinyan’s apartment is hard to enter. The reason being paintings and art works littering the apartment, rather than lack of hospitability.
“Sometimes the work I’ve done strikes me as ineffective, so I’m trying to make the maximum use of my time. It’s hard to start a new life at 50, but I wouldn’t even imagine a different future. It all started with a shock I felt, after I came to see the total mismatch between my inner life and reality,” Boris Matinyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
The painter created his first work after hours-long attempts to express something clear and substantial. “I kept painting, surprised at my own obstinacy. For 50 hears I stayed sure of having no painting abilities. Yet, the Almighty God has blessed me with a talent to paint. My first efforts were rendered into a painting – ‘Two Lovers in Snowstorm’,” he recollects.
In honor of 2014 Olympic Games, the artist will present the town of Sochi with over 2000 of his canvases. “We have agreed with Sochi Mayor to open museum of my works in the town. It’s quite possible that the museum will be named after me,” he said.
