Struggle against corruption to make Armenia more attractive for international investments

Reduction of corruption in Armenia can ensure economic growth and competitiveness in international markets, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Marie Yovanovitch

“The U.S. Embassy is willing to help Armenia combat corruption,” she said during the 6th conference dated to International Anti-Corruption Day.

“High level of corruption affects tax collection, results in income reduction and prevents the government from duly financing healthcare and education sector. Curtailment of social investments significantly decreases the country’s competitiveness and leads to economic downfall,” she said, adding that the state, society and media representatives should join their efforts to eradicate corruption.
