EDWARD SHEVARDNADZE THINKS «MOST ARMENIAN POPULATION OF COUNTRY SUPPORT PRESIDENT POLICY»

The most Armenian population of Georgia including Javakhetia population support the state policy of Georgia’s policy. As «Arminfo» reports this was stated by Edward Shevardnadze today in his interview for the National radio while commenting the last week visit of Armenian foreign minister Vardan Oskanian to Tbilisi. Edward Shevardnadze thinks Vardan Oskanian’s visit was successful noting that dialog of the Armenian foreign minister and the representatives of Georgian side took place in atmosphere of mutual understanding and mutual respect. According to him, Armenians living in Georgia can have different opinions and even provocative statements can be expressed but they are not a rule but an exception to the rule. «Not local residents but Tbilisi provocers make for those excesses», noted the President. According to him, the main success in the foreign policy of Georgia is the fact that Georgia does not have any serious and unsolvable problems with neighboring countries including Armenia and Azerbaijan.
