MOSCOW DISPLEASED WITH OFFICIAL BAKU STATEMENT ON DEPLOYMENT OF TURKISH MILITARY BASES IN ITS TERRITORY

People in Moscow «have taken into consideration» the statement of Azerbaijani parliament speaker Murtuz Aleskerov on readiness for the deployment of Turkish bases in Azerbaijan’s territory and also the promise to give Ankara the possibility to use information provided with Gabalin radar station in future. Russian military-diplomatic sources reported this to «Interfax» last Friday. While commenting the statement of the speaker regarding Baku’s readiness to let have the republic’s territory for the deployment of Turkish bases, the source gave to understand that Moscow would hardly interpret this Baku’s step with optimism. «Deployment of a military base by a country, NATO member might be taken as further expansion of military infrastructure of the NATO to Russia’s boarders», stated the man giving the interview for «Interfax». At the same time he expressed the opinion that the Friday statement of the speaker did not reveal the official Baku’s positions.
