Today, December 28, RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan granted awards to international scientific Olympiads’ winners as well as their tutors.
In 2009, international Olympiads in 6 disciplines (mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, and computer science) were held. Armenian students showed good results, taking first, second and third places in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and computer science competitions.
During the award ceremony, Minister Ashotyan expressed hope for the further success of Armenian students.
He also spoke of efforts Armenian Ministry of Education will undertake to ensure participation of students in international Olympiads.
“In 2010, organizational strategy for students’ participation in international Olympiads will be reviewed to preclude current problems. Armenian Universities are willing to collaborate, creating all conditions necessary for training students for Olympiads to come,” the Minister concluded.
