Each meeting with Georgy Garanyan was a great occasion, said Lavon Malkhasyan, well-known Armenian jazzman.
"I got acquainted with Georgy Aramovich in 1960, in the Union of Composers, where he gave a concert with Stepan Shakaryan. I admired him as a brilliant saxophonist. We also met in Sochi and Yugorsk," maestro Malkhasyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
"Our last meeting was in Yerevan, during the concerts dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Armenian jazz and these concerts were excellent master classes for Armenian jazzmen," he said.
In 1991 Garanyan's dream came true. He founded the Moscow Big Band in which the most talented professional jazzmen performed. Experts and general public praised the Big Band for its unique sound and excellent music arrangements made by its founder and artistic director.
