SIGNATURES BEING COLLECTED TO HOLD PARLIAMENTARY SESSION TO BAN INTRODUCTION OF PAYMENT BY MINUTE FOR CITY TELEPHONE CALLS

Deputy of the Armenian National Assembly Arshak Sadoyan has started collecting signatures necessary for calling a special parliamentary meeting February 6 to discuss the question of introducing changes to the law on telecommunications. Sadoyan intends to press for adding a ban in the law to prohibit introduction of payment by minute for internal city telephone conversations. He has managed to gather 25 signatures until now. It is necessary to collect 44 to call a special session. In particular, deputies representing the People’s, Communist and “Orinats Yerkir” parties have put their signatures under the demand of calling the session. Let us remind that in case of introduction of the ban on the payment by minute “ArmenTel” telecommunication monopolist company may register a claim in the International Arbitrage against the Armenian Government. In the words of Minister of Justice David Harutyunian, there are too little chances for the court verdict to be in favor of Armenia.
