The Administration of U.S. President George W. Bush intends to activate the process of reconciliation of Armenia and Azerbaijan. A representative of the White House stated this while commenting the U.S. head decree on suspension of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act. In the White House representative’s words, waiver of the Section is an important move in American-Armenian and American-Azeri relations and it will signify a new stage in cooperation between these states. Washington intends to undertake active measures to settle Karabakh conflict in the shortest terms,” – the representative of U.S. President’s Administration stated. Moreover, waiver of the Section will contribute to cooperation between these countries in the struggle against international terrorism and will let prevent penetration of terrorists to the Southern Caucasian region.
