“AL QAIDA” IS GOING TO GET IN EUROPE VIA AZERBAIJAN

This time it seems that the cities of the Old World will become targets for the terrorists. According to some information, the militarists of the “Al Qaida” intend to use toxic gas. “The Times” assumes that routes for the executors of the possible terrorist acts to be transferred to Europe are being prepared. The observer of the newspaper says that the way of the terrorists will be laid through Azerbaijan, or Turkey, where the branches of the organization led by Osama Bin Laden are operating up to now.

This is not the first signal about dangers coming from Baku. A month ago the Foreign Ministry of United Kingdom included Azerbaijan in the list of countries where there is a danger for British citizens. This is noted in the report of the Foreign Office. It is underlined that “the British citizens going to that country have to be very careful, as it is known that there are terrorist groups operating there”. A similar warning was published also on the official site of the Foreign Ministry of the Great Britain.
Other countries of the British Commonwealth are also concerned with the security of their citizens who are in Azerbaijan. The links of the international terrorists with Baku cause in particular the concern of the Australian government. The Foreign Affairs Department of this country has suggested that the foreigners may undergo attacks from terrorists in Azerbaijan. The Australian citizens are proposed to have minimal contacts with that country. And those who will go to Baku, are recommended to be very careful in the public places, which are being often visited by foreigners: restaurants, bars, hotels, trade centers, and churches.

In Baku they also admit that the security of foreigners arriving in Azerbaijan is not guaranteed. The Baku press tries to find out which are the places where the terrorists may attack. In an interview with the “Echo” newspaper the Vice President of the “Trust” security company of Azerbaijan, Emil Suleymanov says that according to the analysis carried out by him the hotels, restaurants and pizzerias situated in the centre of the city, the network of bistros in the Fountain Square, where the guests of the city often go, as well as the Central Supermarket, schools and Universities can be included in the group of the high risk.

It’s evident that as in the case with the explosion on the Bali Island, the attacks of the terrorists will be directed first of all against the foreigners and particularly the Europeans. Taking into account all these, the citizens of the European countries should think before deciding to visit Azerbaijan.
