SECTION 907 WAIVER TO GIVE AZERBAIJAN $10 MLN ONLY

The waiver of Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act, restricting the US Administration direct aid to Azerbaijan, will allow increasing of financial aid for Azerbaijan by $ 10 mln. Coordinator of the US State department on cooperation Ambassador William Tailor stated this at the press conference in Baku today. The total sum of aid, granted to Azerbaijan in 2002 by the United States is $50 mln. It should be reminded that Washington will grant $ 90 mln to Armenia in 2002. Besides the Waiver of the 907 Section will allow the United States to grant $ 4 mln 300 thousand additional aid for military needs to Armenia.
