Today phone conversation between Presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov took place. The heads of the two countries discussed the issue regarding the payment for the 2001 supplies of Turkmen gas to Armenia. It was decided to set up working groups that will be engaged in this question. Turkmen leader thanked Armenia’s President for the attention that the country leadership pays to preservation of Turkmen monuments. Robert Kocharyan invited Saparmurt Niyazov to visit Armenia with an official visit. The invitation was accepted. The visit terms will be coordinated. The sides agreed to prepare the bill of a new agreement on friendship and cooperation that will be signed during the Yerevan visit of the President of Turkmenistan.
