January 15, members of Armenian group of American Congress sent a letter to US President George Bush stating they are worried with Turkey’s blockade against Armenia and also with the efforts of Ankara for the political and economic isolation of Armenia. The Congressmen think the United States have to prevent the realization of Ankara’s plans for the deployment of Turkish military bases in Azerbaijan. The authors of the letter appealed to the President to touch these topics at the meeting with Turkey Prime Minister Bullent Ejevit who is in Washington with an official visit these days.
