AZERI PRESIDENT TO OPEN MONUMENT OF PERSIAN POET IN SAINT-PETERSBURG

Today the official delegation headed by Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade left for Moscow to prepare President Heydar Aliyev’s state visit. Azerbaian head intends to visit the Russian capital January 24. Signing a number of documents, including a political statement and a treaty on long-term economic cooperation until 2010, is planned in the course of the visit. To all appearance, the convention on the status of Gabala radio-locating station will not appear in the documents being prepared to signing, as the discord about the terms of lease of the station is not overcome yet. Aliyev’s visit program comprises visiting Saint-Petersburg, where the opening of the memorial of the great Persian poet Nizami will be held on those days.
