HEYDAR ALIYEV’S CLOSE ASSOCIATE CONSIDERS AZERBAIJAN SHOULD WITHDRAW FROM CE VOLUNTARILY AS SIGN OF PROTEST AGAINST “INTERVENTION IN COUNTRY DOMESTIC AFFAIRS”

Responding the decision of PACE Committee on human rights, which has made an ultimatum to official Baku, Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling “Eni Azerbaijan” party Siyavush Novruzov called on the political leadership of the country not to wait for application of sanctions and to declare withdrawal of Azerbaijan from the Council of Europe by themselves. In the politician’s opinion, if Azerbaijan agrees to fulfill the demands of PACE, pressure from Europe in Karabakh issue cannot be avoided. Some Baku politicians are inclined to present the ultimatum made by CE Parliamentary Assembly as a result of machinations by Armenians. In particular, Baku “525” newspaper, which makes reference to a source in the country Parliament, writes that Armenian trace can be seen behind PACE demands on Azerbaijan.
