Just after receiving the news about the decision of Committee on legal affairs and human rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Vilayat Guliyev left for Strasbourg. As we have already reported the Committee has passed a resolution, in which in essence it makes an ultimatum to official Baku – either Azerbaijani authorities fulfill their obligations on releasing political prisoners, or the country will be expelled from the Council of Europe. Discussion of questions connected with Azerbaijan meeting its obligations to the Council of Europe is the aim of the visit.
