On February 12 the 21st Winter Olympic Games will start in Vancouver (Canada). Armenia will be represented by Kristine Khachatryan (February 17), Sergei Mikaelyan (February 15) in skiing, Ani-Matilda Serebryakyan (February 24 and 26) and Arsene Nersisyan (February 21 and 27) in alpine skiing.
The vice-president of the Olympic Committee of Armenia Derenik Gabrielyan will be the head of the Armenian sports delegation. He will leave for Vancouver on February 3, while athletes and coaches – on February 5. Ani-Matilda Serebryakyan is currently in the U.S. and will join the delegation in Vancouver. Coaches Gagik Sargsyan, Garnik Hakobyan, Slavik Sargsyan, Samvel Hakobyan, Lev Harutyunyan and Asatur Pogosyan will go to Vancouver.
A solemn ceremony, during which the Armenian flag will be raised, is scheduled for February 6 in the Olympic village. Opening ceremony will be held on Feb. 12 and the closure is scheduled for February 28.
