Armenian first championship of chess compositions kicks off in Yerevan

Armenian first championship of chess <b>compositions</b> kicks off in Yerevan on February 20.

20 participants, including chess players, referees, chess composers take part in the championship, dedicated to 100th anniversary of Armenia’s multiple champion Henrik Kasparian.

The winner will receive a monetary award from the Chess Federation of Armenia and the right to play at an international tournament. Organizers plan to make the championship traditional.

Several youth tournaments have been dedicated to 100th anniversary of Kasparian.

Grand Prix among women will take place in June 2010 and the international tournament on chess problems. Armenian chess players have already started preparing for them.
