Increase in gas prices is an objective necessity, Samvel Arabajyan member of Public Services Regulatory Commission said. He said it is his personal opinion and he trusts the expert estimations of PSRC.
"I will vote for the increase of gas prices since it is an objective necessity," he said. On February 26, PSRC will consider the application of ArmRosGazprom to raise gas prices by 40 per cent (price for 1 cubic meter of gas will rise from AMD 96 to 136). Meanwhile, PSRC requested to set the tariff as AMD 132 thousand for 10 thousand cubic meters of gas per month. New gas tariffs will take effect from 1 April 2010 in Armenia.
