Chairman of PACE Armenian delegation Hovhannes Hovnannisian called the Baku mass media reports that World Congress of Azerbaijanis’ intends to bring a suit against Armenia in the human rights European court absolute absurdity. “The international community knows that actually Azerbaijan is the aggressor party in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” – he stated in an interview to “Arminfo” agency. In Hovhannisian’s words, only ignorant and not well informed people can speak about such things, as it is known that Azerbaijan did not ratify the European convention on human rights and basic freedoms, as a result of which it cannot apply to the human rights European court. “Speaking of violating Azeris’ rights in Nagorno Karabakh Republic is absurd, as it is known hostilities were stopped long ago,” – the Armenian parliamentarian noted.
