RA Minister of Diaspora, President of UAR sign cooperation agreement

On March 18, Armenian Diaspora minister Hranush Hakobyan and the president of the Union of Armenians of Russia, Chairman of World Armenian Congress Ara Abrahamyan signed a cooperation agreement. 

“The agreement is a historical-political event, aimed at preserving the Armenianness.   
According to the Diaspora minister, in the framework joint programs seminars will be organized for teachers of Armenian language and Armenian students in Russia will be given the opportunity to study in Armenia, the program on preserving Armenian monuments in the CIS countries and Russia be also be implemented. 

A number of activities will focus on the 20th anniversary of Armenia’s and Nagorno Karabakh’s independence. A scientific conference “Cultural Genocide”, as well as the exhibition of paintings dedicated to the Genocide will be timed to the 95th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the minister said.
Ara Abrahamian, in turn, thanked the ministry of Diaspora for productive work. He attached importance to creation of the Renaissance Park with 1.5 million trees in memory of the Armenian Genocide victims. “Throughout the whole territory of Armenia trees will be planted, and the park should become a place where every Armenian will plant a tree,” Ara Abrahamyan said.
