At a press conference yesterday Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian emphasized Armenian leadership welcomed Heydar Aliyev’s statement that the Karabakh conflict could be settled peacefully in the course of the next year. “To all appearance, the optimism of the President of Azerbaijan means something,” -said Oskanian expressing hope for frankness of Aliyev’s words. The Minister conjectured some progress in the Karabakh conflict settlement would be outlined in the course of the Moscow meeting of the heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
