UNESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL ARRIVED IN YEREVAN

Today UNESCO director general Konchiro Macuura arrived in Yerevan. He will participate in «Revival through culture» international conference planned November 20-22. Macuura will meet with President Robert Kocharyan, Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan, National Assembly chairman Armen Khachatryan, minister of education and science Levon Mkrtchyan, the minister of culture, sport and youth affairs Roland Sharoyan and deputy foreign minister Tatul Margaryan. UNESCO director will visit Holy Etchmiadzin where he will meet with head of the Armenian Apostolic Church administration Paren Awetikyan and will visit the Cathedral treasury. Macuura plans to visit the memorial to the 1915 Armenian genocide victims and the museum of the genocide. He will also meet with Yerevan State University students and teaching staff that will give him YSU honorary doctor title. Macuura will also visit Matenadaran, the Institute of Ancient Manuscripts.
