Baku political scientist Mubariz Ahmedoghlu has stated “the new suggestion of the Minsk group cochairmen indicates Azerbaijan’s victory”. Not all people in Baku share Ahmedoghlu’s optimism. For example “Zerkalo” newspaper has addressed the political scientist a question: “Have you seen those suggestions? If not, then how can you judge their contents?” At the same time, the article author also wants to hope that the cochairmen have new suggestions, and also express his worry as “new variants might be copies of the previous ones”.
Such concerns were caused by the sentence of Russia’s deputy foreign minister Vyachaslav Trubnikov “the new suggestions result from the previous work”. When having speech at the press conference in Baku, French cochairman Phillip de Surmen parried the question regarding whether the suggestions of the mediators agreed with the principle of the country territorial integrity. “All this can not arouse suspicions”, the newspaper concludes. Meanwhile, it should be taken into consideration that the other day American Minsk group cochairman Rudolph Perina gave to understand that the mediators were not going to refuse Paris principles of conflict settlement. “I think that a considerable progress has been made in Paris and Key-West and we intend to develop it. This issue will be discussed at the forthcoming Lisbon meeting of the cochairmen.” Thus, there are no serious reasons to doubt that Paris principles are on the agenda.
