ACCORDING TO REPRESENTATIVE OF NATIONAL SECURITY COUNCIL, US ADMINISTRATION HAS NEVER BEEN FOR IDEA TO CONSTRUCT BAKU-TBILISI-JEYHAN OIL PIPELINE THROUGH ARMENIAN TERRITORY

The US Administration has never been for the idea to construct Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan through Armenia’s territory. “Arminfo” agency, referring to Anatoliya agency, informs, this has been stated by representative of the National Security Council Matt Briza at the meeting with the Turkish Association of America in the Congress. According to Briza, the US is interested in the oil pipeline construction through Georgia’s territory. As concerns Georgia’s “weakness”, the US urges Georgia to effect dangerous but necessary reforms”. He categorically refuted the statements that Russia would not allow the oil pipeline construction and the US did not have enough instruments to prevent that. Briza noted that Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan “was and is reality”.
