Carl Froch: I won’t be fighting Abraham in Germany

The "King" Arthur Abraham wants to seal his place in the Super Six Boxing Classic tournament. Abraham did well in the first round of the tournament. He knocked out Jermain Taylor in the twelfth round of their fight. He was not successful in the second stage of the tournament. Abraham was disqualified in round eleven of his fight with Andre Dirrell, which took place last month.

Abraham's knockout of Taylor gave him three points in the tournament. He is still the tournament leader because, so far, none of the fighters have been able to win more than one fight and Abraham is the only fighter to win by knockout. The fight with Froch is scheduled for the 21st of August. Abraham has a very strong defense to block power punches. The defense of Froch is not as polished.

"I can't wait to fight Carl Froch. He is strong but I think I can knock him out. I won't lose this fight," Abraham said.

Arthur Abraham is confident the fight with Carl Froch, set for August 21, will head off to Germany. Froch says there is a pre-existing agreement to stage the fight in the UK, and if he's forced to fight Abraham in Germany, then he will quit Showtime's tournament, the Super Six Boxing Classic, BoxingScene.com reported.

"I am adamant that the next fight, with Arthur Abraham, will be taking place in Britain. I won't be fighting in Germany, it's as simple as that," Froch told PA Sport. "It would mean me pulling out of the tournament if they forced me to fight in Berlin. So I want to get that straight from the start: it has already been agreed that I would fight at home, fight away and a fight back at home. It has been agreed with Ken Hershman at Showtime."

"So my fight with Abraham is in England or the fight is not happening and will make a mockery of the tournament. It's as simple as that."
