On June 22, Social Council for Youth Affairs hosted a conference headed by council chairman Hripsime Markaryan.
The conference was attended by former RA Minister of Education and Science Eduard Ghazaryan.
Abolition of monthly scholarships, reduction in government-reimbursed education opportunities, influence of military service on society’s educational level was discussed.
“Education has become a poignant issue of current reality. Unfortunately, only a small number of brave young people in Armenia seek to pursue scholar careers today,” Eduard Ghazaryan noted.
Conference participants emphasized the importance of increasing the youth’s interest to science, offering to initiate a package of reforms to be submitted to various governmental structures.
In conclusion, Eduard Ghazaryan expressed a hope for the meetings to be continued into the future.
