SHARL AZNAVOUR PREFFERS THE DIPLOMATIC WORK FOR THE WELFARE OF ARMENIA TO HIS PERFORMANCE ON THE SCENE

As we have already informed the square in the center of Yerevan near “Moscow” movie theatre and “Yerevan” hotel is named Sharl Aznavour square. Yesterday Aznavour, famous singer and actor, participated in the solemn ceremony, dedicated to this event. “I have never thought and dreamt that I will be given such honor as it is usually given after death”, said Sharl Aznavour. As CNA agency informs, hundreds of Yerevan people came to greet their famous compatriot. This is a tribute not only to the famous singer but also to the man that made enormous efforts for the organization of aid for Armenia after shocking Spitak earthquake 1988 and continues this work till now, he is also the Armenia’s honorable Ambassador to UNESCO. According to Aznavour, now he prefers diplomatic work for the welfare of Armenia to his performance on the scene.
