RUSSIA’S PRESIDENT VLADIMIR PUTIN WILL ARRIVE WITH AN OFFICIAL VISIT IN YEREVAN TODAY

The official visit of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin to Yerevan begins today. As “Arka” informs, Armenia’s President will meet the Russian delegation at “Zvartnots” airport. Unofficial meeting of Robert Kocharyan and Vladimir Putin will take place in the residence of the President in Sevan the same day. According to the visit plan, Vladimir Putin will meet with Catholicos of All Armenia Garegin II September 15, after that the President and the first lady of Russia will visit the memorial of the victims of the Genocide in 1915, then Armenian-Russian negotiations will take place. Within the visit framework, a number of bilateral documents will be signed.
The same day V. Putin will have a number of meetings with the leadership of National Assembly of Armenia, the leaders of parliamentary groups and factions. The Russian President will visit Yerevan State University, where he will meet the students and the teaching staff and the representatives of Armenia and Russia’s business circles. Within the visit framework, the Russian president will visit the Matenadaran. In the evening the official reception will take place in honor of Russia’s president Vladimir Putin and Lady Lyudmila Putin. It should be pointed out that Russian delegation includes Security Council Vladimir Rushaylo, the Deputy Prime-Minister, cochairman of Russian-Armenian intergovernmental committee on economic cooperation Ilya Klebanov, Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov, the Director of Presidential Staff, the head of foreign department Sergei Prikhodko, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia Anatoliy Dryukov and other officials. Within the framework of the visit a group of Russian businessmen will also visit Armenia.
