There are about 200 X-ray machines operating in Armenia. All of them are radiation sources, with some machines posing risk both for radiologist doctors and patients, the head of State Committee for Nuclear Security, Ashot Martirosyan stated.
As he noted at July 29 news conference, 10% of X-ray machines in Armenia are outdated and in need of replacement. “A list of medical centers using outdated equipment was complied, with X-ray units soon to be replaced,” Ashot Martisoryan pointed out.
