Fans of Portuguese women football team not to arrive in Armenia

Yerevan will host a match between the Armenian and Portuguese women football teams as part of the qualification tournament of the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup on August 25.

The match is not of great importance for the Armenian national team. Currently, the team is the fifth in Group 7 out of five teams. The Portuguese team is the third with nine points, but it does not have chances to overcome the group round either. Italy tops Group 7 with 22 points.

Armenia’s team led by coach Vagharshak Aslanyan was defeated in the first match 0:7.

Meanwhile, fans of the Portuguese team will not arrive in Yerevan.

The Portuguese team’s composition and training schedule are unclear yet. The Portuguese coaching staff will present its working schedule in Armenia upon arrival on August 24, the press service of the RA Football Federation told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
