Armenia’s gross international reserves reduced by 6.5% during second quarter of 2010

Armenia's gross international reserves decreased by $124.3mln or 6.5% during the second quarter of 2010, amounting to $1786.9mln. Meanwhile, Armenia’s external assets (in foreign currency) totaled $1743.5mln during the period under review that is $49.5mln or 2.8% lower as compared with the beginning of the quarter, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia reported.

Besides, the special drawing rights (SDR) in the International Monetary Fund decreased by 63.3% by the end of June 2010 as compared with the beginning of the quarter, amounting to $43.5mln.

The net external reserves of Armenia amounted to $1136mln by the end of the second quarter of 2010 against $1256.8mln in its beginning.
