“CHANGE OF MINSK GROUP CO-CHAIRMAN WILL NOT TELL ON KARABAKH SETTLEMENT,” – Press Secretary of RA Foreign Ministry considers

Commenting the reports on OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairman Kerry Cavano’s appointment US Ambassador to Cyprus, former Advisor of the President of Azerbaijan Vafa Guluzade stated that change of Minsk Group Co-Chairman meant the negotiation process would last a long time or even be frozen. He adduced arguments for his supposition saying that Cavano was well-informed about all the fine points of the latest talks on Karabakh and it would take time for the new Co-Chairman to get involved in the process. Press Secretary of Foreign Ministry of Armenia Dzyunik Aghajanian’s opinion is opposite. She stated that the process of communicating the information on the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement from the old to the new Co-Chairman would not take much time. At the same time it is necessary to bear in mind that the Co-Chairmen will arrive in the region in October and Cavano’s successor will have an opportunity to familiarize himself with the details at the scene.
