IN SPITE OF THE DROUGHT NOT A BAD HARVEST ON THE WHOLE IS EXPECTED IN ARMENIA

Drought is already registered in some regions of Armenia: Vayots Dzor, Syunik and Gegharkunik. Minister of Agriculture Zaven Gevorkian declared this at a conference together with the Prime Minister. As it was reported to “Arka” agency in Public Relations Office of machinery of the Government, the crop was also seriously damaged by the hail. Nevertheless the Minister contends that “this year there will be collected 100 tons more corn than the previous one”. There are optimistic forecasts concerning the potato harvest. There are not expected any problems with grapes either. The situation with fruit is no worse. These predictions let the Minister state that “there will be no serious difficulties with storing up”.
