Just after extraordinary session of the National Assembly had finished its work, “Unity” fraction held a meeting, at which a decision was made to dispense member of People’s Party Vardan Mkrtchian from duties of Secretary of the fraction. Gagik Voskanian, who at the beginning of the week declared his withdrawal from People’s Party of Armenia, is elected Secretary. Members of the fraction representing People’s Party were invited to the meeting, but boycotted it. Commenting the decision on replacement of Secretary of the fraction, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Gagik Aslanian, who had left People’s Party together with a group of deputies, stated that PPA, which had only eight votes in the fraction, did not have the right to the count on the post of Secretary. As it is known, the number of members of the fraction, who have withdrawn from the Party, exceeds the number of deputies who are included in the Party now.
