Yesterday the constructing works on the gas pipeline “Blue flow”, that must ensure the supply of the Russian gas to Turkey through the Black Sea floor, were stopped. The construction was stopped as it was held without state ecological expertise and with the offence of requirements of environment legislation. Earlier experts forecasted that ecological factor would be used with many people that are against the constructing of the gas pipeline from Russia to Turkey through the Black Sea floor. As it is known the land route through the territories of Georgia and Armenia would be not only ecologically safer but also economically profitable. But Russian ‘Gasprom’ yielded the Turkish side that insisted that the gas transition through Armenian territory was untolarable. It is notable that now the Turkish experts realize that this project has no perspectives. Recently the analyst of oil-and-gas industry Ferrukh Demirmen in his interview to ‘Turkish Daily News’ has stated the project ‘Blue flow’ with its cost characteristics and its ecological risk extent can not compete with the gas supply by land. According to his words, the gas pipeline exploitation, constructed on the Black Sea floor, at the record depths, is fraught with consequences of ecological character. It should be reminded that exactly the pursuit to concentrate their attention on the project ‘Blue flow’ made ‘Gazprom’ leaders refuse the participation in the consortium for the Iran-Armenia gas pipeline constructing. It is still difficult for experts to say whether seriouse problems appeared at the implementation process of the project will effect ‘Gasprom’ attitude to the question of the expediency of joining the concortium members.
