At a meeting with journalists Chief of the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Dzyunik Aghajanyan explained what is understood under “Parisian principles” of the Karabakh settlement. In her words, during the negotiations between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the capital of France an agreement was achieved, which first – envisaged horizontal relations between Nagorny Karabakh and Azerbaijan (that is inadmissibility of subordination of one party to the other), second – secured compulsory reliable link between Nagorny Karabakh and Armenia, and third – guaranteed security for Karabakh. All these conditions were recognized acceptable both by the Presidents of the two countries and the Minsk Group Co-Chairmen. In Aghajanyan’s words, after rather successful negotiations in Key-West, the mediators proceeded to work at the project of the official document, which would fix the oral agreements. It was expected to present the project for consideration by Robert Kocharyan and Heydar Aliev during the Geneva meeting, holding of which was planned for June. But according to the Chief of the Foreign Ministry press office the atmosphere, which formed in Baku after the Key-West meeting made the Co-Chairmen delay the next round of negotiations.
