ARMENIAN NUCLEAR POWER PLANT CEASED OPERATION IN CONNECTION WITH PLANNED PROPHYLACTIC WORKS

. The Armenian nuclear power plant has ceased operation for 45 days in connection with holding planned prophylactic works. “Arka” agency reports that the conducting of prophylactic works at the plant was planned to begin on July 7, but was delayed till July 10 connected with the negotiations of the Ministry of Energy with “Itera” company on increasing the volume of gas supply to the Republic. In course of the negotiations in Moscow they came to an agreement on increasing the daily supply of gas two times, which will allow compensating the decrease in electric power being generated by the atomic power plant. The prophylactic works were last carried out at the Armenian nuclear power station from July 29 to November 30, 2000.
