. “After the final settlement of the Karabakh conflict the European Union will support Armenia and Azerbaijan to restore their economies. The agreement of this is already achieved,” -Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Armenia Michael Legras stated at today’s press conference. Commenting the position of France in the Minsk Group, the Ambassador noted that nomination of a new Co-Chairman by the leadership of his country testifies special attention of the official Paris towards the negotiation process. In Michael Legras’ words, Philip de Suremeyn, who was lately nominated Co-Chairman, knows the region well as he held office of Ambassador of France to Iran. The French diplomat assured that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmen get on with each other very well. According to his words, the peacemakers believe that in spite of still sharp contradictions between the parties peaceful settlement can soon be achieved.
