Armenian traffic police chief, colonel Norik Sargsyan said increase of traffic accidents number was not observed in Armenia for the past two years.
1402 traffic accidents were registered in Armenia in January-September 2010, as result of which 191 people were killed and 1925 injured, Sargsyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
He added that 1409 traffic accidents were recorded in Armenia during the same period of 2009, as result of which 232 people were killed and 1966 injured.
As for traffic rules violation, their number was 40,000 higher in nine months of 2010 as compared with the same period in 2009, he said.
