GENADY SELEZNEV HAS RENOUNCED HIS WORDS

. The statement of Russian State Duma President Genady Seleznev, made during his visit to Armenia, has caused an storm of indignation in Azerbaijan. Let us remind that Genady Seleznev has announced the opportunity of joining Nagorny Karabakh to Russia-Belarus Union as a part of Armenia. Speaker of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Murtuz Aleskerov even addressed a protest letter to Seleznev. The letter expressed regret for Russia indirectly does not recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan by making such statements.
In a response letter the Speaker of State Duma declared that his words were misinterpreted by the representatives of mass media. According to Seleznev’s words, in reality he was just speaking about the opportunity of joining Armenia to Russia-Belarus Union. Seleznev stated that he respests the territorial integrity of both Azerbaijan and Armenia.
