. The prezident of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliev has adopted the edict «About deeper introduction of Azerbaijani». In the document it is said that «Azerbaijani people is one of the ancient peoples in the world», that is why Azerbaijanis have to write only usinig the Latin alphabet and not the Cirillic one. The document obliges the ministries and the goverment departments to develop the plan of the office work switching to Latin. Those that will resist to the introduction of Latin graphics will be brougt to justice. The president has charged to prepare appropriate amendments in the legislation.
