Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine fined AMD 750,000

Head of the Department of Biodiversity, Lands, Waste and Dangerous Substances Control at the RA Ministry of Nature Protection Hovhannes Hunanyan said that Syunik territorial department of the Ministry has urgently reacted to the fact of the November 14 accident at Zangezur copper-molybdenum combine, as a result of which enterprise’s emissions into Voghji river took place.

the experts concluded the water in the river is contaminated, Hunanyan told a press conference.

The ecologist reported that the enterprise has paid a fine at the amount of AMD 650,000 for the damage caused to environment, as well as AMD 100,000 as an administrative fine.

Hunanyan believes that no damage has been caused to the river’s fauna.
