Weather bureau promises heavy precipitation in winter

The winter in Armenia will be with no departure from the norm, according to the weather bureau.

“Negative phenomena are expected in March 2011,” head of the operating department of the meteorology center Zaruhi Petrosyan told journalists on December 4.

“If the autumn is not rainy, heavy precipitation is expected in winter,” she said. “The year was behind all norms: the winter was too warm and spring was too rainy, what badly damaged the agriculture. The summer was and autumn were dry.”

Petrosyan said the next week will be warm (+15-18C), without precipitation.
