Director of The National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater Kamo Hovhannesyan said that in September the theater worked on staging Sayat-Nova opera.
“Now the performance is ready for 90% and its premiere staging is expected in March 2011,” Hovhannesyan told a press conference on December 9.
According to him, as a result of conflict between opera author Alexander Harutyunyan and the director invited from Georgia, the work will be completed by another director.
“I wouldn’t name him, but will tell that we are going to invite a talented young Armenian director, as Alexander Harutyunyan refused to work with the Georgian director, despite the latter’s sound resume,” said Hovhannesyan.
AMD 50mln was allocated from the state budget for Sayat-Nova opera’s staging.
