Heritage opposition party has requested Yerevan city administration to organize a motor race to protest the law on compulsory vehicle insurance.
“We will try to convince the government of untimeliness of this law, which will double the heavy financial burden of the population,” party board chairman Armen Martirosyan said.
“The law does not comply with the Armenian Constitution and should be abolished. All mandatory payments should be transferred to the national budget. However, in case of compulsory vehicle insurance, all funds will be appropriated by private firms,” he added.
For her part, party member Larisa Alaverdyan noted that the law is underdeveloped and the government was in haste to adopt it, without going into detail.
