Artsvik Minasyan: banking system reigns in Armenia’s management system

Member of the opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group Artsvik Minasyan said that the reshuffle in the Armenian government will change nothing in the country’s economy, unless the ideology of programs development is changed.

Commenting on dismissal of Armenian Minister of Economy Nerses Yeritsyan and his expected replacement by Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan, as well as upcoming appointment of Vice Chairman of the Central Bank Vache Gabrielyan to the post of RA Minister of Finance, Minasyan said that unfortunately the banking system continuously reigns in Armenia’s management system.

“Meanwhile, this does not yield positive results. A bank manager aims to secure maximum income for the system, while an economist pursues the goal of securing a maximum profit for economy,” he said.

As for the election of ArmRosgazprom CEO Karen Karapetyan to the post of Yerevan Mayor, Minasyan said that Karapetyan is a very good manager, but he is not a politician. “Such professionals are needed in the country’s economy rather than in politics,” Minasyan concluded.
